The past
The Haidensee – a small, dreamy Toteis lake that enchants in a very special way. It is surrounded by dense forest and can be reached via a lonely, 1.5 km long forest road.
On its shore stands a building that was once known as a guesthouse and inn. In 2010, after years of operation as a public baths, the former owners, the Götzhaber family, decided to close the baths and convert the guesthouse into a private retirement home, which they ran personally for 10 years. Since 2020, the home has been closed and the lake has remained closed to the public for another 3 years, until now.
Since June 2023, you can experience the truly unique magic of this place again, so let yourself be touched and enchanted.
This private lake is a real gem with numerous special features. It easily reaches temperatures of 28-29 degrees in summer, making it one of the warmest lakes in Carinthia. The water is of an incomparable clarity that is rarely found and even harbors crayfish, which is proof of its excellent water quality – almost drinking water quality!
The absolute tranquillity that surrounds it is another highlight. Here you will find no neighbors, no city noise, just untouched nature and a truly sublime silence that takes your breath away. All these unique features make Lake Haidensee a truly incomparable place that casts a spell over and enchants every visitor.

Together with our unbeatable team, we work every day to provide our guests with a stay that exceeds all expectations.
For us, “Das Haidensee” is not just a place, but a place full of emotion and personal meaning. We also celebrated our own dream wedding here and spent the most beautiful day of our lives with our loved ones. It was an unforgettable experience that we will remember forever. And that’s exactly what we want to give our guests – moments full of love, happiness and magic that will stay with them for a lifetime.

THE LOCATION

The Haidensee has undergone an incredible transformation and has become a real gem.
The two function rooms (85m² and 45m²) on the first floor are stunning, the large room can be combined with the small one through connecting doors and a bar in the small room makes it perfect for social occasions. The 400m2 terrace, accessed via large sliding doors, is perfect for sunny days and unforgettable evenings.
The numerous WCs and the well-equipped catering kitchen round off the offer. When it comes to events of all kinds, the first floor is simply unbeatable – weddings, company parties, private parties, seminars, team-building activities, the list is endless. The separate apartment on the first floor is another highlight, which has its own terrace and offers a sense of privacy.
The first floor houses six apartments (20m² – 55m²), each with its own kitchen and bathroom. The fitness room on the 1st floor can be used by all apartment guests. The top floor (2nd floor) has a beautiful top floor apartment with a terrace. Even if you do not book the whole house, the apartments can be rented individually.
The Stadl is an idyllic open hut that has also been carefully renovated and can be used as a stage or buffet for outdoor events. The Stadl is also ideal as a bad weather alternative for wedding ceremonies.
The chalet is the highlight of the property – a high-quality apartment in the form of a detached, small house. With its two floors and a total area of 2x35m², it offers everything your heart desires. On the ground floor there is a luxurious bathroom and a small, private spa area with sauna – the perfect place for a relaxing break. On the upper floor, our guests will find a cozy living and sleeping area as well as a small but fine kitchenette.
There is a large terrace on both floors with a breathtaking view of the lake, which is directly accessible from the lower floor. Living in such a gem is a dream come true for anyone looking for peace, relaxation and luxury in the midst of nature.

This Tiny House offers everything you need to feel at home on around 25m². The Airstream is fully equipped and stands on its own foundation with a large, private terrace that gives you a feeling of freedom and allows you to enjoy the beauty of the surroundings to the full. Experience the charm and simplicity of the Airstream and experience the feeling of freedom that this special place gives you.
The small chapel, which exudes its very own charm and radiates a certain magic. The large wooden terrace in front of the chapel can not only be used for weddings, but is also ideal for champagne receptions, for example.
The enchanting festival terrace of Lake Haidensee offers a breathtaking view of the crystal-clear lake and the surrounding nature, providing a unique backdrop for unforgettable events and celebrations.
The festival terrace stretches generously along the shore and combines the beauty of nature with a touch of elegance. Here you can smile at the warm rays of the sun while watching the gentle waves of the lake and enjoying the soft rustling of the leaves in the wind.
The wedding meadow rounds off the whole location perfectly. A magical place for unforgettable wedding ceremonies. The wedding meadow is idyllically surrounded by lush nature and offers a romantic backdrop for the most beautiful day of a couple’s life. Here you can say “I do” surrounded by gentle flowers and grasses and tie the knot.
The parking lot is large enough to accommodate 40-50 cars. So there are no parking problems at “Das Haidensee”. There is also a covered bicycle area in the parking lot.
